Hi Everyone,

Firstly I apologise as it's been so long since my last post, I have had some major computer and internet problems over the last few months so haven't really been able to stay online for longer than a few minutes at a time. It's been a bit of a nightmare lol.

The computer problems are really my fault as I become very engrossed in this years Big Brother and started watching the live feed on the internet, but I watched it for so long I over heated the computer and it died - whoops :(

Then when we finally got a new computer then my internet moderm decided to died. So really I haven't had much luck with technology in the last few months.

On the bright side we went on a lovely holiday to Cape Cod in the US in October and I have had a lot more time to scrap without playing on the internet all day lol.

I've also had two scrapbook layouts published in 'The Scrapbook Magazine' recently which was great.

Anyway that's all for now expect a long post soon with lots of holiday and scrapbook photos. (As at the moment for some reason it will not let me add photos)

I've been MIA for quite a while now, so forgive the long catching up post lol.

So what have I been up to? I finished my DT term at 'The Sampler'. Unfortunately I never received my last kit, it got lost somewhere in the volcanic ash cloud trouble lol, so that was a bit of a let down. I've decided to take a break from DT's for a while as I was starting to suffer from 'scrapper's block' and really want to spend some time scrapping just for me - also I need to start using up my mountain of stash before it gets too old and I don't like using it lol.

I'm still on the XOXO girl's DT until August so here is my June challenge layout:-

Then in the last week of May my sister had leave from work so we had a lovely few days together. On Wednesday we went to London to see this:-

It was my 3rd time but my Sister's 1st and she loved it. We had fantastic seats and Lee Mead was lush too lol.

Then on the Friday we went to see this:-

I enjoyed it but didn't think it moved the story on at all. I really love Aidan though......

Next my DH and I went on our Holiday to Holland :)

We had a lovely, relaxing time and took some great photo's the only problem was it rained at least once a day so my hair looks crazy in every photo lol. So here are some scenery one's instead (don't want to scare people lol)

I came back to two fantastic e-mails. The first requesting to publish one of my layout's in an upcoming issue of 'Scrapbook Magazine' :)

and the next saying I am having 4 layouts published in the June 20th issue of 'scrapbook news and review'. I'm so excited to get my layout out there and get this great response.

So I'll leave you with one of my latest layout's, the rest I can't show as they are all out for publication - so exciting xxx

Now I'd like to share my project with you made exclusively with products from The Sampler!

Flowers LO:-

On this LO I made these PP Flowers, here is a quick tutorial on how to make them:-

Step 1: Cut out 3 circles, 1 large, 1 medium and 1 small.

Step 2: Make cuts on the circle as shown on my circle with the pencil lines. Your circle should now look like this.

Step 3: Cut a small triangle out between each of the cuts. Don't worry if the triangles or cuts or uneven. When you start layering everything you won't be able to notice.

Step 4: Layer the flower shapes on top of each other and stick down with glue dots or 3D pads. Bend the flower petals up a little.

Step 5: Add a button and pin to the centre to finish the flower. You can also add ribbons and gems as finishing touches.

In this months kit you get this cute Maya Road strawberry chipboard mini-book, here's what I did with mine:

I decorated the front cover using, markers and the glitter from the kit and for the pages I started by spraying them with 'Maya mist' to give them a lovely glittery background to scrap onto.

We finally have TV again....

On Saturday I got up to find the Sky box wasn't working, it had a message saying 'No satellite signal is being received'. We had this happen about 5 yrs back and when we had an engineer out he said that message appears when the box has died!!!

So I waited until my Hubby got home from work to call Sky as it is in his name and they are really funny about that. So when he called them we went through the usual test, unplug it, take the card out, plug it in again (which I had already done about 5 times lol). They then said they can send an engineer out for £65 so we said no as we were pretty sure the box was just totally died. So my Hubby said how much to upgrade to Sky+, they said £99 for the box and £65 to install it!!!! We couldn't believe it as if you're a new customer you get a free box. So hubby said put me through to cancellation then. So to cut a long story short after talking to cancellations for about a second they offered him a free box and free installation :) just shows it pays to threaten to cancel.

The only problem was they couldn't come out to change the box until today (Wednesday) so I have spent the last few days without TV. I know it wouldn't worry most people but I am a TV addict lol and I had to miss all my fav programmes :( lol.

But I am now the proud owner of this little beauty :

It's a Sky+HD box, we only had a standard Sky box before. So now we can record and pause TV - it's heaven lol

Well I got back from my trip to Austria last Friday 15th and I have been so ill with a horrible flu that turned into a chest infection, but thankfully my Doctor has given me some antibiotics and I am finally starting to feel abit more with it lol. So time to update my blog......

Firstly, we had a fantastic time in Austria. We went for my Husband Martin's 40th Birthday, it was really beautiful and snowy and soooooo cold. We managed to do the sound of music tour which was so much fun (for me, my Husband not so much lol). Here are some pic's:

I have been a bit AWOL lately because of this:

I know I'm totally behind the times, but I have just discovered 'Grey's Anatomy' and it is excellent lol so I have spent every bit of free time I have had watching season 1-3 and I just started 4 today. It's such a great show I can't believe I had never seen it before - mmmm Mc Dreamy lol.......

Also went to see New Moon on Friday and totally loved that too. Jacob is hot - even though saying that makes me a total cougar lol.....

1) How I met your mother - I just got season 4 from the US and watched the whole season in 2 days - I love Barney!!!!

2) Pins - I love scrapbooking with pins at the moment.....

3) Reality tv shows - It's that time of year again and I am loving x-factor, strictly come dancing and looking forward to I'm a celeb.....

4) Little people, Big world - I love watching this on Discovery Home every afternoon at 2pm while I'm having lunch.....

I'm back from Vacation.... well technically I was back last Friday, but I'm only just returning to the land of the living after tons of washing and ironing, DT assignments and picking a new DT for butterfly crafts I haven't had much time to do anything else.

So here is the bit when I bore you all with some holiday snaps lol.....

We went to Wilmington in NC first. If it looks familar they filmed 'Dawson's creek' and still film 'One tree hill' there as well as tons of films.

How was your weekend???

I had a really lovely weekend. Martin was off Saturday, Sunday and Monday which hardly ever happens so we had a proper weekend together. On Saturday we had a lovely lay in and then walked into town in the afternoon. That evening we went to our friends house for a lovely dinner and catch up.

On Sunday we went to my Parents house for an early Birthday dinner as my Parents are away on holiday and then we are away. They got me this 'Hello Kitty' Birthday cake, but it must have been damaged in the shop so it looked like Hello Kitty had a black eye lol.

On Monday we went to Lakeside (local shopping centre) to try to get some prescripion sunglasses, but couldn't see any I liked so will have to keep looking. It was a really lovely relaxing weekend and the best part was I didn't have to cook dinner once lol xxx

On the scrapping front, I made this LO for the More than scrapbooking September 7th sketch challenge.

Butterfly crafts challenge Blog (Butterfly-crafts.blogspot.com) are looking for new design team members for our winter term (Oct – Jan 31st 2010).

Challenges are set every 2 weeks and the DT will be split into 2 teams and expected to complete 1 layout every 4 weeks. (Please note - The blog and forum are just for fun and inspiration so I will not be able to offer any prizes of freebies for the DT)

Exciting News - Roll the Dice - DT

I received an e-mail this morning from Michelle and Caroline at Roll the Dice challenge blog asking me if I would like to join their DT - Of course, I said yes!!!

Roll the Dice is a new challenge blog that focusing on scrapbooking, cards and OTP. I will be starting my DT term with the June challenges.

Scrappers Block - First DT assignment....

I just want to share my first DT assignment from Scrappers Block with you. The challenge is to:-

GO METALLIC!
It may be metal embellishments, or a layer with a metal finish or effect. Think tin foil, embossing, charms, coins, keys and cogs. Brads, wire, gold leaf and staples! If it's metal we want to see it.

Here is my example:

I used metal rings to make the 'g' in my title, a metal charm and metalic look PP.

My new obsession - The Office

I am so obsessed with 'The Office' (American version). I watched season 1 and 2 ages ago and really liked it but season 3 never seemed to come on tv in the UK so I sort of forgot about it.

A couple of weeks ago, I went to buy Martin the DVD of 'The Wire' and in HMV they have season 3 of The Office for £15 so I thought lets get it for me - I watched all 23 episodes in 2 days and then ordered season 4 from America the next day lol. Season 4 came Monday and I've now watched all that too and can't wait for season 5 to come out on DVD so I can see what happens next.

It is just so funny!!! My fav character is Dwight and Jim and Pam are just so cute. Also how yummy is John Krasinski!!!

Butterfly Crafts DT call ...

Butterfly Crafts Summer DT Call:

Butterfly crafts challenge Blog (Butterfly-crafts.blogspot.com) are looking for new design team members for our summer term (June 1st - Sep 30th 09).

Challenges are set every 2 weeks and the DT will be split into 2 teams and asked to complete 1 layout every 4 weeks. (Please note - The blog and forum are just for fun and inspiration so I will not be able to offer any prizes of freebies for the DT at this time)

DT Duties:
-Create one layout every 4 weeks
-Make sure lay-outs are completed and sent in on time (If you miss 2+ challenges you will be asked to leave the DT.)

We would also ask you to:

-During your DT term you will be asked to submit 1 project, tutorial or challenge for our forum.
-When you have time post and chat on our forum, comment on our gallery and participate in on-line crops.
-Promote 'Butterfly Crafts' where ever you can including on your personal Blogs

How to apply:

Please send us 3 of your favourite layouts along with:
-Name, country you live in and e-mail address
-A short Bio about yourself
-A link to your Blog (if you have one)

- I am also looking for an assistant DT coordinator to join the team; this person will work with me in thinking up challenges for the blog and forum and helping me with the day to day running of the site. If this is something you would be interested in please advise me in your e-mail and send me an example idea for a challenge. (remember Butterfly Crafts focuses on 'passions')

The closing date for applications is May 20th and the new DT will be contacted by May 22nd.The call is open to everyone no matter where you live and I will be keeping at least 2 spots for new designers so if you have never been on a DT before and would like to try out this could be the call for you.

Country Music:

It was country music week on American Idol this week, and as you might know I love country!!!This week I'm especially loving Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler- they rock!!!

My Little Shoebox:

I'm loving this new range of scrapping products!!!! The Owls are so cute!!! Also their small Alphas are just fantastic!!!

I made this lay-out for challenge 5 of the survivior contest at Hybird Designs . The challenge was to create a Lay-out with-out using any PP or pre-made embellishments. The photo is of my Nan, Grandad and my Dad when he was about 2 or 3.

I made this lay-out using challenge 8 at Butterfly Crafts . It's about my lovely Mum:

I've had the best Friday 13th ever lol......

So I woke up this morning and after making Breakfast and Lunch (for DH to take to work) and seeing my DH off to work, I switched in the Internet (As usual lol) and I got a lovely E-mail from Cindy at Jean's Art Doll's to say I had made their DT!!!!!

I'm just so excited as this site is so much fun, totally creative and a friendly space where you can feel free to be yourself with your art. Their motto is Dare to be different.

This week I've had some time on my hands, so decided to have ago at some challenges.

I did this lay-out for this weeks survivors challenge at Hybird Design Scrapbooking. The challenge was to create a layout about something that you have ‘survived’, you must include at least 50 words of journaling and must include Survivor or Survival in the Title. I used sketch #22 from pink sketches to create the lay-out.

This lay-out was made for challenge #22 at the dreamgirls blog. The challenge was to use at least 80% American Crafts products and to use a heart and a flourish /swirl somewhere on your page.

Here are my fav things from this week......

1) Change of Heart - Jodi Picoult

This week I've started reading the newest Jodi Picoult book, I am a massive fan of all her books and this one is just as engrossing. It tells the story of June, who's Husband and Daughter where murdered and the killer was sentenced to the death penalty. But when her other Daughter needs a heart transplant, will she be willing to accept the heart of the killer to save her daughters life. I would highly recommend this one......

2) Ugly Betty - Season 2

I got the box set of season 2 for Christmas and finally got round to watching it this week. I love Betty she is so cute and I have a little weird crush on Henry lol.........

3) Taylor Swift

I am such a big fan of Taylor Swift, I love her songs and think she is such a lovely person. I got her first album when we went to Tennessee in 2007 and her 2nd album imported for Christmas. She is releasing her album in the UK in March so I hope she does really well over here too.....
